Next stop is spend time at the magnificent Tirta Gangga Water Palace, one of the region's top attractions. The last king of the Karangasem Empire built the water palace in the 1940s and 50s. The name Tirta Gangga translates as 'Water of the Ganges' and indicates the sacredness of this site to the Hindu Balinese. Admire decorative ponds, statues, plants and fountains that surround the palace, then take in stunning views of the ocean and rice paddies from town,if you feel hunggry we can stop here for lunch.

Afterward, head south through the pretty coastal town of Candidasa en route to the village of Tengana, which is inhabited by Balinese Aga people who lived here long before the Majapahit Empire arrived from Java to colonize the island in the 14th century. Aga traditions are strictly maintained in this traditional village, making its architecture, weaving and batik textiles distinctive. Tour the small village on foot with your guide for a closer look at these traditions. Departing from Tengana, return along the scenic coastal road to your hotel where your tour ends with hotel drop-off in the late afternoon.

Nyepi Day

On 17th March 2018,Island of Bali celebrate New Year ( Nyepi/Silent Day ).On this day Bali was isolated for 24 hours no TV broadcasting,No car On the street,Airport close,and this year more speacial because no internet ,some provider internet close their mobile data internet.

But on 16th, It was big festival for Hindu in Bali because Parade Ogoh-Ogoh,
Ogoh-OOgoh are giant puppets made in the form of mythological Balinese demons.On the eve before Nyepi Day are paraded on the street of Bali to purify the island from spiritual pollutants and ward off the evil spirits.

Cremation

CREMATION CEREMONY ESCORTING FAREWELL TO THE HIGHEST PLACE.
Cremation is a ceremony of burning corpse conducted by Hindu people in Bali.This ceremony is conducted to purify the spirits of the deceased toward the final resting place by means of burning corpse.Creamation is done with a series of ceremonies,made up of variety of offerings not to forget laced with symbol like other rituals that are often performed by Hindu people in Bali.

The death bodies are placed in" Bade/coffin "and carried jointly.All members of the family and community lined up in front of "Bade/coffin".On the way to the cremation ceremony,if there is any intersection or junction,the Bade/coffin will be rotated around three times,it is believed that the spirits are confused and cannot come back again.Arriving at the grave site or the cremation place which has been prepared ,the corpse is put/placed on/in " Bull-Shaped Replcation " which has been firstly prepared by the priest reciting mantras and prayers and ceremonies,then Ngaben ceremony is implemented,the "Bull " is burned to ashes.The ashes from the residu of the cremation are inserted into an yellow palm fruit (coconut ) which later floated/washed away into the sea or river considered sacred.

Flexible Tour
Gede is an excellent guide. He is not just a regular driver who will bring you from point A to point B. You can ask him anything you need to know about Bali and he will answer it clearly. We couldn’t decide where to go prior to our trip so he made an itinerary for us. You don’t need to strictly follow the schedule though. Our itinerary with him is very flexible. You can leave your hotel early or later in the morning and he always arrives early. Just let him know. If you have sudden changes in your plans, he’ll do his best to accommodate your request. He will join you on your tours and will voluntarily take pictures if you like. His price is better than other drivers who posted their services and his driving skills are remarkable.

Comfortable and informative experience!
Gede welcomed us when we arrived in Bali. After we had more interaction, we were very comfortable with Gede. He would answer a lot of my inquisitive questions on things I see on Bali streets. He would also volunteer to take photos for us. One of the days, Gede also included his family for our trip, I believe it was because he was very comfortable with us. We did not mind anyways. (:

The place where Gede brought us for sunset dinner was in Ubud, beside a coffee plantation, it was b.e.a.utiful! A very refreshing experience.

We had 4-day trip, first 2 days were Gede. The next 2 days, was guided by Komal (I'm unsure if I spelt it correctly), it's Gede's friend.

He was very smiley and comfortable to be with. The dinner place that Komal brought us to, was also very nice. He would make suggestions as to where to bring us (we didn't include in our itinerary), and we really enjoyed the sunset view.

On the last day, he also brought along his youngest son to send us off to the airport. Cute boy. Haha.

All in all, we have enjoyed the trip a lot. (:

Tooth filing ceremony contains a meaning of cleaning bad characters in human being.Tooth filing ceremony in Balinese Languange is also called " Mependes " and it can also be called  as Matatah or Mesangih,where 2 pieces of canines and 4 incisors on the top row of teeth are filed or leveled.This ceremony in an obligation,customs and culture which is still being undergone by Hindus in Bali for generation to date.

This ceremony is considered to be sacred and is intended for children who start growing up,where for girls who have period or menstruation,while the boys have entered puberty or their voice ha changed.
Doing this Mepandes ceremony ,the grown up children are reminden and taught not to fall into the acts prohibited by religion and they can be useful peoples for themselves,family,community and nation

Sanur Beach....The orginal beach resort,sanur's quiet charm still appeals and has many fine hotels, restaurant,and also famous for it's sunrise.Sanujr is uncluttered laid back and friendly. It's long stretch of beach offers shallow water.Colorful jukung fishingboats rest on the sand,backed by a paved cycling path.

Telaga Waja River

Visiting Bali without visit Beach is not feel that you are in Bali. Many other outdoor activities that you can do in Bali such as ride bike, trekking, snorkeling dive and white water rafting. I think most people already known about white water rafting. It is recreational outdoor use an inflatable raft  to navigate water.

In Bali there are few rivers that you can do white water rafting Ayung River located near Ubud,Ayung river rafting is good for beginning because this river has grade 2-4,and smooth rapid, but need more extra energy to get to river, there are long stairways to get to the river from the lobby where you start it.But panorama in Ayung River is magnificent, long the way in the river.

But in this article,it will talk about Telaga Waja River, located  on the eastern part of Bali,Karangasem ( Menanga,Rendang )about 1,5 hours  drive from Kuta.

Here is some characteristic of Telaga Waja River :

Ø  The Longest River Rafting for Rafting in Bali  : It’s offers 16 kilometers rafting route, normally take about 2.5 hours from starting point to the finishing point,but sometime take more than 2.5 hours depending on how high is the water in the river in that time when dry season water bit low, and of course need more extra energy to paddling your river raft,when wet season,it will be more fun because river rapids it will be ok.

Ø  No Long Stairways  :  Talking about white water rafting in river of course thinking about how the way to get river from starting point to the river where River Raft parking.But in Telaga Waja river most of the way to the river is not long walk or just short stairways.

Ø  Real Family Fun : Because Rapid in telaga Waja River not too strong is good  for family having fun ,Telaga Waja River has level 2- 4 river rapids classifications.

Ø  Away from Air Pollution  : Because located of this river away from city so the air still fresh .

Ø  Natural Beauty :  Telaga Waja River offers a natural tropical environment with plenty of coconut tree on the edge of Rivers,and also you see lots animal,Monkey,bird and Monitor Lizard if you are  lucky, when resting in one of rest area…Monitor Lizard will jump to the River Raft,of course Monitor Lizard will jumpin to the River Raft  when no body in the River Raft.

Balinese New Year : NYEPI ON 17th MARCH 2018

The new year is celebrated with pomp almost everywhere in the world. And being home to a unique culturei , Bali has its own way to ring in the new year. Leave your trumpets and fireworks at home ,for the Balinese are flooding the streets of their island with evil  monsters in welcoming the Caka New Year.

The first day of the Caka New Year on the Balinese calendar, call Nyepi is marked with complete silence. On this day, activities that involve pleasure ,fire and work are prohibited even the island’s international airport is closed for 24 hours .In the streets ,the odd stray  dogs may wander past but that’s about it. With the being said, celebrations take place  across the island the evening before ,with people flocking the streets of their villages to take part in the hype.

Known as Ngerupuk Parade , the new year’s eve festivity takes  place literally in every village in Bali ; and this includes Kuta and Seminyak ( which area also villages in case you didn’t knw ). Each village has a number of smaller units called Banjar ; and each Banjar will design and build their coolest ,most evil looking giant puppet or Ogoh-Ogoh to join in the street parade.

The nama Ogoh-Ogoh is derived from the Balinese “ Ogoh-ogoh “,meaning “ to shake “ and it represents the Bhuta –Kala or evil spirits,vices that need  to be  kept away from human. Many local  from Banjar community willcarry their Ogoh-Ogoh in a convoy,shaking it to make it look likes it’s moving and dancing.Of  course,different Ogoh-Ogoh have different functions , so when made  to move they produce different actions.

The parade normally leads into an intersection,causing the convoy to circle around, which pushes the on lookers outwards and tighter together.Then more men will appear behind the float,playing instruments as they run and circle their village’s demon creation.All this movement and sound symbolies a duel between the demon and the village . But the commotion doesn,t end anytime soon ,for dozen of Banjars take part in one parade. Some of the Ogoh-Ogoh will then burnt after being paraded around as a symbol of purification.
